Grove Avenue House, “The Phoenix”
Richmond, Virginia
Located in the heart of Richmond’s Fan district, this fully rehabilitated home rose from the ashes within a burned-out shell of a 1920’s row house. Achieving a LEED Gold certification, its reconstruction celebrates the form and character of the original structure while integrating high performing, healthful building practices. Low energy design is enhanced with substantial investment in renewable energy technology and water harvest, while occupant health and well-being are supported through non-toxic finishes and biophilic systems, such as an interior living wall and a roof garden.
